Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially chosen to drop his appeal for bail. As a result, he will remain detained at the Metropolitan Detention Centre until his scheduled criminal trial in May 2025. The decision to abandon the appeal was confirmed on 13 December 2024, as per court documents filed by his legal team.
The legal team representing Combs initially prepared documentation to contest the court’s decision to deny him bail. However, they opted to withdraw the appeal, stating,
“Mr. Combs does not seek to appeal the district court’s denial of his renewed motion and hereby moves to voluntarily dismiss the appeal.”

Allegations of a Long-Running Criminal Enterprise
Federal prosecutors have accused Combs of orchestrating a long-standing criminal operation that involved acts of violence, coercion, and abuse. Allegations against him include s_xual abuse, forced labor, arson, bribery, kidnapping, and running a racketeering scheme. Prosecutors claim these crimes were part of a systematic pattern of abuse, primarily targeting women.
According to the indictment,
“For decades, Sean Combs … abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his actions. His vast business empire provided the resources and influence necessary to sustain this conduct.”

Earlier Investigations and Evidence
Earlier this year, federal agents searched Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of s_x trafficking and assault. Additionally, a video allegedly showing Combs physically assaulting his former partner, singer Cassie Ventura, emerged online. This footage coincided with a lawsuit Ventura filed against him in November 2023.
