In a brazen robbery, three armed suspects pounced on a house in Glendale and made off with a substantial sum of cash and valuable jewellery.

According to the police report, the armed perpetrators were donning face masks to conceal their identities and were armed with bricks and logs.

Upon gaining entry to the property, they violently attacked the victim before making away with jewellery valued at an astonishing US$61,000, alongside a substantial sum of US$16,800 in cash.

“Police in Rhodesville are investigating a case of robbery which occurred at a house in Greendale, Harare on 09/05/24 in which three unidentified male suspects who were putting on face masks, armed with bricks and logs, attacked the victim before stealing jewellery valued at US$61 000.00 and cash amounting to US$16 800.00,” reads the police report.

The police have already launched an investigation into the robbery case and are urging anyone who might have information pertaining to the incident to report it to the nearest police station.

Warren Park Primary School Robbed

In a separate incident that unfolded at Warren Park Primary School, six armed suspects struck as parents gathered to pay their children’s school fees.

The audacious robbery unfolded in broad daylight, leaving parents and school authorities in shock.

The suspects swiftly made off with US$1,481.00 in cash before fleeing the scene. The police have launched an immediate investigation into the incident.

Security Urged at Schools: Police Appeal for Vigilance

In light of the recent robbery at Warren Park Primary School, the police are urging school authorities to prioritize security measures on school premises.

The police stressed the importance of heightened vigilance, particularly during fee payment periods. To prevent further armed robbery cases at schools, the police strongly encouraged parents to consider depositing their fees at financial institutions.

“The ZRP urges school authorities to increase security and be alert as parents pay school fees. Where possible, parents are encouraged to deposit their fees through financial institutions to curb armed robbery cases.”
