British-Zimbabwean Rising Star Shumaira Mheuka Of Chelsea: All You Need To Know About The Starlet

British-Zimbabwean rising star Shumaira Mheuka, also known as Shim Mheuka, caught the attention of the world following his Europa Conference League debut yesterday.

Shumaira is a promising young footballer born October 20, 2007, in Birmingham, England. He has quickly made a name for himself in football, playing as a forward for Chelsea’s senior team and the Under-21 squad. He made his senior team debut as a substitute during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Astana of Kazakhstan.

Shumaira comes from a family with a strong football legacy. His father, Malcom Mheuka, was a professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder for Zimbabwe Saints and Circle Cement in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. His younger brother, Tendah, also follows in their footsteps, playing for Brighton & Hove Albion’s academy.

Shumaira’s journey in football began at a young age. He joined Brighton & Hove Albion’s academy at nine and quickly progressed through the ranks. By 14, he debuted for the under-18 team and scored his first goal for the Seagulls in the English U18s Premier League.

In July 2022, he signed with Chelsea, making his debut for the under-18 team in a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in October 2022. On December 12, 2024, he made his senior debut for Chelsea in a UEFA Conference League match against Astana.

International Career

Shumaira plays as a central striker and has an eye for goal and the ability to hold up possession.
