KwaZulu-Natal’s disaster management teams are expected to continue providing relief while also remaining on high alert for more inclement weather conditions.
The teams were dispatched following heavy snowfall, which caused a number of people to spend the night on the N3 highway on Friday.
As more severe weather is expected in some parts of the province, the government said the teams are on standby.
“The rescue efforts from provincial and national governments are beginning to yield fruits. We do encourage people to stay at home and not undertake any trips,” said Cooperative Governance MEC Thulasizwe Buthelezi.
