Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has reassured the public that the mpox outbreak is under control. Ntshavheni briefed the media on the outcome of the cabinet meeting that was held yesterday.
The outbreak has thus far claimed the lives of three people out of the 24 that have been infected. Ntshavheni says people should maintain basic hygiene to help prevent the spread of mpox.
“To date the total number of positive cases recorded stands at 24 and this includes three deaths, 19 recoveries and two active cases undergoing home isolation. Of these, 12 cases were reported in Gauteng, 11 in KwaZulu-Natal and one in the Western Cape.
