Deadly Accident at Makhado Business Centre Leaves Toyota Fortuner Reduced to Rubble

Two people lost their lives, and one was injured in a devastating accident involving a Toyota Fortuner and a bus at Makhado Business Centre on the Bulawayo-Beitbridge highway early Thursday morning.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as catastrophic. “The Fortuner looks like it went under a tank,” said a local resident.

Pictures from the accident scene show the Fortuner in shambles. The vehicle’s top, sides, and front were completely destroyed, leaving only the chassis somewhat intact.

Wreckage from the Fortuner was scattered across the railway line crossing where the collision occurred.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the head-on collision resulted in two fatalities at the scene. A third individual, reportedly from the Fortuner, sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

At this time, investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash.

As investigations continue, authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution on the highway, especially at railway crossings.
