Popular Mzansi singer Samthing Soweto has expressed his gratitude to those who defended him during the recent dispute with DJ Maphorisa.
The saga revolved around Maphorisa’s alleged exploitative tactics on their song Amalanga Awafani, which sparked backlash from fans who rallied behind Samthing.
In a video shared on social media, the vocalist thanked everyone who stood up for him and supported him throughout the situation.
He also addressed the various media platforms that covered the issue, stating that everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Samthing made it clear that he won’t be speaking further on the matter in interviews or public platforms, unlike some artists who use such opportunities to attack their competition.
However, he did acknowledge in the video that what DJ Maphorisa did was wrong.
Thank you everyone for having my back.
