The accident occurred at around 7 pm at the 26km peg along the Nyabadza-Gandanzara Road.
The Pashonlink bus had 65 Anglican pilgrims.
Passengers alerted the driver that smoke was coming out of the engine
Eight people were burnt beyond recognition, and ten others were injured.
The driver stopped the bus to check what was wrong.
The moment he opened the engine cover, a ball of fire came from the engine and engulfed the whole bus
The driver and 57 passengers escaped through the door and emergency exit windows. Ten of them sustained injuries.
Eight other pilgrims were burnt beyond recognition.
