A 28-year-old woman wanted in connection with a murder in Pomona last night was arrested earlier today, May 16.
Police have thanked security services in Kempton Park for assisting in the arrest of the suspect.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sargent Dipuo Ditshego last night police responded to the scene of a murder at a property on West Road.
“When police arrived at the property they found the body of a 29-year-old man,” said Ditshego.
It is believed that the victim was strangled with a cable.
“Shoe laces were used to tie up the victims hands and legs.
“A witness at the property told police she had seen the victim with his ex-girlfriend during the day and that the woman had left the property alone earlier that evening,” said Ditshego.
An alert was issued for woman.
Ditshego confirmed that earlier today, Sec Pros security personnel were patrolling around Brentwood Park when they saw a woman matching the description given.
“The suspect was apprehended and Detective Captain Richard Moloi who attended the murder scene drove to Brentwood Park where the 28-year-old female was detained.”
“The woman was taken to the Kempton Park Police Station where she was charged with murder.”
She will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon to face the charges against her.
The Kempton Park SAPS station commander Brigadier Lindani Ndlovu commended the quick response of the security personnel.
