“It’s My Right”: Harare Man Demands Lula Lula from Ex-Wife’s Sister

Harare Man Demands Lula Lula from Ex-Wife’s Sister and Threatens Violence

In a troubling incident, a woman claims that her sister’s ex-husband repeatedly visits her home uninvited and demands lula lula.

Abigail Kafa appeared before Harare Civil Court magistrate Meenal Narotam, seeking a peace order against Shepherd Hide for allegedly insulting and sexually abusing her.

Abigail stated that Shepherd frequently shows up at her home without warning, demanding to have lula lula with her and becoming violent when she refuses.

“He comes over to my house when he wants lula lula. When l refuse, he insults and assaults me. He is my sister’s ex-husband,” she told the court.

She further described how when she refuses to give in to his demands for intimacy, he threatens her with gruesome violence saying he will hack her into pieces that no one would be able to find or identify her.

“He threatens to break me into pieces so that the police will not be able to find my body,” she added.

In his response, Shepherd showed complete disregard for the court’s authority, questioning its right to intervene in his actions. He claimed that since they were married, he could do as he pleased with Abigail.

“I want the court to make me understand if a married woman is allowed to do whatever she pleases. I have no issues with the court granting her a peace order but it’s my right to do whatever l please on her,” he argued.

Magistrate Narotam granted the peace order in favour of Abigail and instructed Shepherd to stop his abusive behaviour.
