Zimdancehall Musician Ras Pompy Speaks Out After Being Accused of Sleeping with His Friend’s Mother

Zimdancehall sensation Nyasha Reginald Mano, popularly known as Ras Pompy, has come out to set the record straight after being accused of bedding his friend’s mother. He has vehemently denied claims that he is in a romantic relationship with a 36-year-old woman, who is a close friend of his mother.

The allegations, which surfaced in a court case, have sparked widespread controversy, but the 23-year-old artist has made it clear that these claims are baseless.

Ras Pompy, speaking through his lawyer Dumisani Mthombeni, has categorically denied the accusations.

In a strongly worded statement shared on his Instagram account, Mthombeni expressed that Ras Pompy has never been in any romantic relationship with Wesley Shoniwa’s mother.

“Our client is 23 years old and does not befriend youngsters like Wesley. Ras Pompy has never bedded Wesley Shoniwa’s mother, as was published and alleged. The two have never been, and are not, in any love relationship. Shoniwa’s mother works with Ras Pompy’s mother, and he considers her a mother figure,” reads the statement.

Through the statement Dumisani Mthombeni, revealed that the fallout from the accusations has been severe for Ras Pompy, who says he has become the target of public ridicule and false jokes on social media.

His lawyer revealed that the artist has had to defend his character to his wife, in-laws, and close relatives, all of whom were deeply disturbed by the defamatory allegations.

“Ras Pompy has become a subject of public ridicule and bad jokes on social media. In equal measure, the false and defamatory allegations have reached wide and far.

His wife, in-laws, relatives, stakeholders in the music industry, business associates and friends have been extremely disturbed by these false allegations. Ras Pompy has had to explain himself to his wife, in-laws, and relatives.”

He also claimed that Ras Pompy lost an endorsement deal as a result of the allegations

“Ras Pompy has even lost an endorsement deal and other business opportunity which he was still negotiating prior to this publication.”
