Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced cook to join our dynamic preschool team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for young children, adhering to food safety standards, and supporting the team with general cleaning duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve healthy, balanced meals and snacks according to the preschool’s nutritional guidelines.
Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and accommodate any allergies or food restrictions.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist with general cleaning duties in the preschool when required.
Manage inventory and place food orders as needed.
Work collaboratively with the preschool staff to create a positive and nurturing environment for the children.
Required Qualifications:
Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Arts or a relevant cooking qualification.
Experience in meal planning and preparation for large groups (preferably children).
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices (a Food Safety Certificate is a plus).
Strong understanding of dietary needs for young children, including allergies and nutritional requirements.
Previous experience working in a preschool or school environment is highly desirable.
First Aid certification is advantageous but not essential.
Requirements:
Must live in the local area.
Must have a passion for working with children.
Be willing to assist with general cleaning duties as part of the role.
Ability to work as part of a team and manage time efficiently.
