Premier Mabuyane laments the tragedies befalling Eastern Cape

Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane says Saturday’s accident that claimed the lives of seven people has contributed to great sorrow in the province.

It happened on the N2 highway between Mthatha and Mtentu, where a truck ploughed into two minibus taxis.

Nine others have also sustained injuries in the process.

The province is currently mourning the passing of 13 people who died this week alone.

Meanwhile, six people were shot and killed in Qumbu, while seven others were killed in a crash this morning.

This comes as the province hosts a funeral for the 18 victims of the Lusikisiki massacre shot and killed late in late September.
