Mutare Woman Tadiwanashe Maradzika Found Dead Amid Pregnancy Dispute With UK-Based Husband
Tadiwanashe Mildred Maradzika, whose marriage to a United Kingdom-based man had come under strain following a dispute over claims of a fake pregnancy and miscarriage, has been found dead at her home in Dangamvura, Mutare.
Maradzika was discovered on Saturday, with police confirming that her death is being investigated.
Before her death, she reportedly recorded an audio message in which she spoke about the emotional distress she had experienced amid the dispute involving both families.
Her death comes as the matter was still awaiting a traditional court hearing before Chief Mutasa, which had been postponed three times.

Police Investigate Maradzika’s Death
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the death to H-Metro but did not disclose further details about the circumstances.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms a sudden death of a woman in circumstances, which are currently under investigation.
“Further details will be released in due course,” Nyathi said.
Maradzika is believed to have ingested rat poison, while her body was reportedly discovered by a Mutare City Council employee.
Final Audio Message Speaks Of Family Pressure
In the audio recording, Maradzika spoke about the pressure she felt her family was facing because of the dispute.
“Regai ndiende zvangu vanhu vekumba kwedu vazorore nekuda kweproblem yandakaunza muhupenyu hwavo nekuda kwangu.
“Ngavasawana mari yavanopihwa nemhuri yekwaNyahunzvi yekuripisa.
“Handidi kuvigwa kumusha uye ngapasawane anopihwa zvinhu zvangu asi mai vangu ngavasarudze zvavanoda pazvinhu zvangu.
“Moyo wangu unemaronda ndakabaiwa pamwoyo wangu, ndakashungurudzwa,” she said in the recording.
Her message reflected the distress she described experiencing as the dispute continued between the two families.
Marriage Hit By Pregnancy And Miscarriage Allegations
Maradzika married Carlton Nyahunzvi, who is based in the United Kingdom, in July. However, the couple reportedly never lived together after their marriage.
Nyahunzvi accused her of falsifying documents relating to a pregnancy and miscarriage, allegations that contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
Maradzika, meanwhile, said she felt humiliated while staying at the Nyahunzvi family home in Murehwa.
The dispute subsequently became the subject of proceedings before Chief Mutasa, with Maradzika returning to Mutare ahead of a scheduled traditional court hearing.
Traditional Court Hearing Postponed Three Times
The hearing was postponed on three occasions as the dispute remained unresolved.
The next hearing had been scheduled for December 5 after the Maradzika family requested a postponement.
Maradzika was found dead before the matter could return to the traditional court, while police investigations into her death are ongoing.
