Zimbabweans were left in shock after a recent picture of renowned businessman James Makamba surfaced on social media, showing him looking noticeably thinner and almost unrecognizable. The once-bulky Makamba, now appearing frail, was dressed in a suit that seemed oversized due to his significant weight loss.

Makamba Attends ZANU PF Meeting Amid Health Concerns
The photograph was taken during a ZANU PF policymakers’ meeting held at the party’s headquarters on Monday morning. Seated next to retired Lieutenant General Engelbert Rugeje, James Makamba attended the gathering where party leaders discussed the state of ZANU PF and preparations for the 21st National People’s Conference, which will run under the theme “Industrialise and Mordenise Towards the Attainment of Vision 2030”.

Zimbabweans React as James Makamba Looks Different After Weight Loss
After the photo was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @buster_goldie, who criticized Makamba for aligning with the same system to blame for the death of his son, Zororo Makamba, who passed away in 2020 from COVID-19, Zimbabweans weighed in with a range of opinions. Others were more focused on Makamba’s health, comparing his current look to that of the late politician Simbarashe Mbengegwi and musician-turned-pastor Zex Manatsa. Here are some of the reactions:
