Our #WCW today is Ms. Quinn Sowa, a trailblazing Zimbabwean entrepreneur, healthcare expert, and philanthropist. Born and raised in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Quinn’s remarkable journey is an inspiration to women and entrepreneurs globally.
Quinn grew up in Hillside suburb, Bulawayo, where she attended Petra Primary School and Empandeni High School. Her entrepreneurial spirit was nurtured from a young age, helping her father count money from his businesses.
After completing her high school education, Quinn relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue higher education and career opportunities. She trained as a psychiatric nurse and gained valuable experience in the healthcare sector.
Quinn’s professional journey began as a cleaner and psychiatric nurse in the UK. However, her passion for entrepreneurship soon took over. She started a shoe shop in Bulawayo, followed by a successful box truck rental business. In 2014, Quin diversified her investments by acquiring mining claims for gold milling. Although she eventually sold her claims, this experience laid the groundwork for her future ventures.
In 2017, Quinn founded Rugare/Hlalani Kuhle Medical Aid, revolutionizing Zimbabwe’s healthcare landscape. Her vision: to make quality healthcare accessible to all, regardless of employment status.
Quinn’s accomplishments are a testament to her dedication and perseverance. She has received the Businesswoman of the Year award at the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Matabeleland Annual Business Awards, created over 25 jobs through Rugare/Hlalani Kuhle Medical Aid, and is renovating a hospital in Hillside to provide comprehensive healthcare services, including renal care and cancer treatment.
Quinn is a proud mother and devoted wife. Her family’s support has been instrumental in her success. Quinn’s commitment to giving back to her community is evident through her healthcare initiatives and job creation.
We celebrate Quinn Sowa’s remarkable achievements, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to improving Zimbabwe’s healthcare. Her story serves as a powerful reminder that determination, hard work, and resilience can overcome any obstacle.
