Zimbabwe was represented at the World Urban Forum in Cairo, Egypt, by Casper Chigama, leader of the House of Arts. The biennial United Nations conference, held from November 4-8, 2024, brought together policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to discuss sustainable urban development and the future of cities.
The forum provided a platform for delegates to share experiences, challenges, and innovative solutions related to urbanization. With the global urban population projected to increase, the conference focused on addressing pressing issues such as infrastructure, housing, transportation, and social services.
Chigama’s participation underscored Zimbabwe’s commitment to sustainable urban development. The forum’s outcomes are expected to inform national and local policies, ensuring that cities are inclusive, resilient, and sustainable.
