Man Stones Woman Who Had Rejected His Love Proposal

A Plumtree man has found himself at the wrong end of the law after he stones a woman who had rejected his love proposal three times. The clear case of a man who does not know how to take no for an answer was brought before the courts of justice.

Mhlalisi Ngwenya allegedly assaulted a woman who declined his romantic advances. The violent response followed repeated attempts to court the woman, who had expressed her disinterest.

Ngwenya’s initial proposal of affection toward Future Ndebele occurred in May 2023. Despite her clear rejection of his offer, he continued to pursue her, disregarding her wishes. The situation took a disturbing turn months later when Ngwenya approached Ndebele again, only to face a second rejection.

On October 7, 2023, Ngwenya made another attempt to win over Ndebele, which she again declined. This time, his reaction turned violent. In a fit of anger, he reportedly threw stones at her, injuring her leg in the process.

Beyond the assault accusation, Ngwenya is also facing charges for allegedly stealing a speaker from a local bar. This additional offence has added to the severity of his current legal situation.

Court Appearance and Legal Proceedings

Following the incident, Ngwenya was taken into custody and appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware. He was granted bail set at $30 USD and is awaiting trial, which is scheduled for November 28, 2023.

This incident has sparked concern within the Plumtree community, with local residents expressing dismay over the escalation of unrequited advances into violent actions. As Ngwenya awaits trial, the case underscores the importance of respecting personal boundaries and highlights the potential legal consequences of disregarding such boundaries.
