Bishop TD Jakes Suffers Health Incident on Stage Days After Visiting Zimbabwe

Beloved American pastor and author Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a health incident on Sunday after delivering an intense hour-long sermon, just days after returning from a trip to Zimbabwe.

The 66-year-old cleric had travelled to Harare to celebrate his close friend, Bishop Tudor Bismark, marking 50 years of ministry. During his visit, Jakes also spoke with students at the Star Leadership Academy, sharing wisdom and inspiration.

Bishop TD Jakes Suffers Health Incident on Stage

The health incident unfolded at the end of Sunday’s service when Bishop Jakes, visibly fatigued, lowered his microphone and began to tremble. Concerned church members quickly rushed to his side on stage.

In a statement shared on social media, the Potter’s House confirmed that Jakes received immediate medical attention and is now in stable condition under the care of professionals.

“During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour long message,” the statement read. “Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”

While the church did not disclose the exact cause of the incident or whether Jakes was hospitalised, his family offered a reassuring update.

Family Provides Reassuring Update

Speaking on Instagram, his daughter Sarah Jakes Roberts and son-in-law Toure Roberts expressed gratitude for the prayers and support.

“He’s doing well,” Toure Roberts said. “Today could have been a tragic day, but it wasn’t, but the grace of God.”

“I’m so grateful that he’s already beginning to improve,” Sarah Jakes Roberts said. “It’s a reminder that even going into this holiday season, we need to love on the people who you hold near and dear and just take the time to be grateful for all the people God’s given you.”

Fans and followers of Bishop Jakes have flooded social media with messages of support, praying for his continued recovery.
