ZESA Chairperson Sydney Gata Bemoans How He Has Been Constantly Insulted by Zimbabweans Over Loadshedding Crisis

ZESA Holdings chairperson Sydney Gata bemoans how he has been insulted by Zimbabweans over the massive loadshedding affecting the country.

Gata made this remark on Monday during the presentation of the Titan New Energy 720MW Waste-to-Energy Power Plant and the 200MW Solar Power Plant in Hwange, Matabeleland North Province. These projects aim to alleviate the loadshedding crisis.

Sydney Gata Addresses Public Criticism Over Power Outages

Speaking at the official launch, Sydney Gata expressed frustration over being blamed by Zimbabweans for the escalating power outages and ZESA’s failure to provide adequate electricity.

He stated that he feels emotionally “scarred” by the constant insults, adding that the criticism has left him worn out

He expressed exasperation, stating that he is tired of being insulted over the power cuts.

“I am tired of being insulted for these power cuts.”

End of Load-Shedding in Sight: Gata Announces New Power Projects

However, he expressed pride in announcing that the thermal power and solar initiative projects will bring an end to load-shedding.

Today I can stand before the nation and say this project will mark the end of loadshedding.

This is one out of 18 projects being spearheaded by companies in mining, industry and commerce whom we invited after the Kariba disaster,” he said.
