Podcaster and media personality Penuel Lungelo Mlotshwa has ignited a public firestorm after revealing on social media that he stopped paying child support for three of his seven kids.

Penuel says his decision stems from long-standing frustrations over limited access to the children, whose mothers he accuses of blocking visitation.

The outspoken podcaster, known for his controversial takes, admitted to halting child support payments three months ago.

I became a ‘deadbeat’. I have told myself I will only contribute to their livelihoods and school fees when I can get them to visit me in Joburg and can enjoy time with them like other normal parents,” he wrote on Tuesday.

Mlotshwa disclosed ongoing struggles to see his children—an 11-year-old son in Newcastle and two others in Durban. He claims that despite years of legal battles, including three parenting plans, he has been unable to secure visitation rights.

I have never been able to have them visit me in six years. I realised that I have been an enabler of toxic behaviour over the years and that endless court cases have not helped me have my rights to be a father enforced,” he explained.

Mlotshwa’s decision to withhold financial support comes with a condition: the children’s mothers must prioritize co-parenting and allow the kids to spend time with him in Johannesburg.

I hope that something will change soon, that the mothers will have a change of heart and that I will get to have my kids, as I do with my other four kids,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to the mothers of his other children for fostering “a civil and healthy co-parenting relationship” that allows him to be actively involved in their lives.

Mlotshwa framed his decision as part of a broader effort to shed light on what he calls “parental alienation.”

Good fathers need to be able to speak out about injustices when it pertains to their kids, without being persecuted due to toxic fathers out there. My story is here to inspire other fathers to also speak out,” he said.

The revelations have sparked heated debate on social media, with critics labeling his actions irresponsible while others sympathize with his frustration over co-parenting challenges. After the heat on social media, Penuel deleted his post.
