Programme Management Unit Coordinator

Oxfam Southern Africa Cluster is seeking a dynamic Programme Management Unit Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and management of the CHOICE Program, a key initiative under our Gender Justice portfolio.
About the Role
The Programme Management Unit Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring the delivery of high-impact results in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for young people and marginalized communities. This role contributes directly to Oxfam’s vision of putting women’s rights at the heart of our work.
You will bring a results-oriented approach to the team and work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders across countries to deliver transformative change. This role encompasses programme leadership, strategic partnership building, quality assurance, and donor compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Development, Management & Implementation: Lead and oversee the rollout of the CHOICE Program, ensuring it aligns with strategic goals and delivers meaningful impact.

Partnership Management: Foster strong, effective relationships with implementing partners, stakeholders, and collaborators.

Work Programming, Quality & Learning: Ensure robust planning, implementation, monitoring, and learning systems are in place to promote programme excellence.

Donor Compliance & Reporting: Coordinate the preparation of timely, accurate, and high-quality donor reports and ensure adherence to all contractual obligations.

Strategic Networking & Alliance Building: Represent Oxfam in key networks and alliances related to SRHR, gender justice, and youth empowerment.

Resource Mobilisation & Public Engagement: Support efforts to secure new funding and raise the profile of the CHOICE Program through advocacy and communication initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a committed, knowledgeable professional who is aligned with Oxfam’s feminist principles and our core values of empowerment, accountability, and inclusion. The successful candidate will have:

A degree in public health, nursing, development studies, sociology, or a related field; a master’s degree is an added advantage.

At least 8 years of experience in international development or humanitarian work.

Deep understanding of SRHR and gender justice issues, particularly in youth contexts.

Experience in managing multi-country projects and navigating diverse stakeholder environments.

Strong project management skills and the ability to lead with influence in multicultural teams.

Commitment to feminism, anti-racism, equity, and social justice.

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to operate in challenging settings.

Willingness to travel internationally, including to remote or difficult locations.
