This philanthropic initiative found the chairperson donating more than 100 pairs of shoes and paying school fees for 30 students.

The community development program saw 150 pairs of brand-new school shoes distributed to children who previously attended classes barefoot. This intervention occurs during the chilly winter months, when many students endure harsh conditions while walking long distances to school without proper footwear.

“Seeing children struggle to learn because of basic needs like shoes is heartbreaking,” Masenda stated during the handover ceremony.
“This donation aims to remove one barrier to regular school attendance and protect these young learners from winter’s bite.”
Comprehensive Educational Support

Beyond the footwear initiative, the youth leader extended his support by covering tuition fees for 30 vulnerable students – ten each at Madzimoyo, Wino, and Kangurunguru Primary Schools. This dual approach addresses both immediate physical needs and long-term educational access.
Call for Collaborative Community Action
Partnering with Tinoda Trust under Fagio Zvondai Marowa’s leadership, Masenda emphasised the importance of collective effort in supporting disadvantaged youth. He launched the “Donate a Shoe” campaign, challenging other community leaders and philanthropists to replicate similar programs throughout the region’s remote schools.

“True progress comes when we unite behind our children’s future,” Masenda remarked. “I invite all stakeholders to join this movement – whether through footwear donations, educational sponsorships, or other forms of support for our most vulnerable students.”
The initiative has been widely praised by local educators and parents, with many noting the positive psychological impact on recipients who now feel more confident and valued in their learning environments.
