It never rains, but it pours for cult leader madzibaba Ishamael after he is slapped with fresh charges in court.
Born Ishamael Chokurongerwa, Madzibaba Ishmael appeared before the Norton Magistrates’ Court, where he faced r_ape allegations, infringing on children’s rights and burying people without proper documents.
Madzibaba Ishmael’s New Charges
The leader of the Johanne Masowe Panyere Nyika is facing five counts of having sexual relations with minors from 2018 to 2014. This is said to be a violation of the children’s act and an infringement on their rights. This is also statutory r_ape when it comes to the law.
The five counts that Ishmael is charged with are listed below:
- With a 13-year-old resulting in the birth of a child
- With a 14-year-old resulting in the birth of a baby
- with a 15-year old resulting in the birth of an infant
- With a 15-year-old resulting in a baby
- with a 16-year-old, resulting in the birth of a baby
Madzibaba Ismael’s other charges and court proceedings
The cult leader was granted bail after two months in remand prison for violating the Children’s Act and the Burial Act.
The High Court to that decision after it was ruled that Ishmael would not interfere with the witnesses.
The conditions of his bail were that he had to deposit $ 1,000 bail money and that he was not supposed to conduct church services until his case was finalised. Ishmael was ordered to report to the police three times a week and also not to directly or indirectly contact the witnesses in his case.
He was also ordered not to interfere with witnesses directly or indirectly until the matter is finalised and to report to the police three times a week.
The other five co-accused in the legal matter were given bail earlier this month by the High Court. Their trial will start on the 7th of May 2024 at Norton Magistrates’ Court.
