Persistence Mazhe, 31, of Duma in Nyika, Bikita, tragically took her own life at her rural home in the Zinhata area, according to reports from The Mirror.
Accounts suggest Mazhe had a heated altercation with her husband, Joas Taramusha, prior to the devastating events.

Distraught and helpless, Taramusha recounted the heartbreaking moment when his wife contacted him, disclosing her intention to travel to their rural residence to take her own life.
“I stayed at Nyika Growth Point in Bikita with my family and I argued with my wife. She phoned me yesterday morning and informed me that she was travelling to our rural home in Gutu to commit suicide,” Taramusha disclosed.
He revealed that Mazhe called him again and told him that she had purchased a pesticide, which she then coerced her three children to drink before consuming it herself.
“She phoned again after a few hours and told me that she was going to commit suicide. She bought a pesticide and forced the children to drink before she gulped it.

The consequences of Mazhe’s actions were devastating. Their nine-year-old son tragically passed away upon arrival at Silveira Mission Hospital, while her two other children, aged seven and three, were admitted to the hospital for urgent medical care.
