A former police officer has been sentenced after he was found guilty of stealing bricks in Hwange at Hwange Colliery Company.
Mbano’s sentence includes a four-month suspension for five years, provided he did not commit a similar offence during this period. The remaining eight months are to be served as 280 hours of community service in the coal-mining town.

Crimes committed by former law enforcement officers recently
Recently, some former police officers have been caught after committing robberies and other criminal activities. Also, some soldiers have been caught in gangs of armed robbers and stealing from companies and unsuspecting individuals.

NPA Reports a 23-year-old arrested for robbery
The court was informed that on April 27th, Ncube, along with an accomplice, Philani Moyo, who remains at large, accosted the complainant and her friend on Fox Road in Victoria Falls. At knifepoint, they robbed the complainant of her cell phone.
Ncube was quickly detained after the complainant’s screams attracted a nearby security guard, leading to his immediate arrest.
