Justice Yvonne Mokgoro to be laid to rest

Former Constitutional Court Justice Yvonne Mokgoro will be laid to rest today.

Mokgoro passed away following an extended period of illness in the hospital, related to a car accident from which she never recovered.

She will be honoured with a Category 1 special official funeral.

In 1994, she became the first black woman to serve on the Constitutional Court, spending 15-years on the bench.
