The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has launched an investigation into a suspected fraud case involving Harare dealers Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe. The duo allegedly received approximately US$7 million from the Ministry of Lands to purchase 632,000 goats, which were never delivered.
This shocking revelation has raised concerns about the potential misuse of taxpayers’ funds. ZACC has announced its intention to interview Mpofu and Chimombe on money laundering charges. However, the pair is currently out of the country, according to their lawyers.
The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days. ZACC’s efforts to combat corruption are crucial in promoting transparency and accountability in Zimbabwe.
