Motorists Urged to Remove Window Tints

Motorists have been urged to remove tints from their vehicles as authorities intensify efforts to curb drug and substance abuse.

The decision follows investigations that revealed drugs being hidden in vehicles with heavily tinted windows.

The call was made on Tuesday by Tafadzwa Muguti, the Permanent Secretary for Presidential Affairs and Devolution, who said the measure is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve road safety and reduce criminal activity.

Focus on Road Safety and Security

Authorities explained that the initiative aims to make vehicle interiors more visible, allowing law enforcement to detect and prevent illicit drug transportation while ensuring safer roads for all.

Motorists are expected to comply immediately, with enforcement measures likely to follow for those who fail to remove tints from their vehicles.
