PSL Fines and Bans Yadah FC Executive Member Spencer Muvadi After Assault on Goalkeeper
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has delivered its judgment following the assault on Yadah FC goalkeeper Godknows Gurure by the club’s executive member, Spencer Muvadi.
The incident occurred on 22 August 2025 at Heart Stadium after Yadah’s 3-2 defeat to Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Gurure was hospitalized for several days after the attack, which took place inside the team’s dressing room.

Muvadi Found Guilty and Fined
In its ruling, the PSL Disciplinary Committee found Muvadi guilty of breaching league rules. He was fined US$4,000 and ordered to cover the costs of the hearing.
Beyond the fine, Muvadi has been banned for one year from conducting football business on behalf of Yadah FC or any other PSL club.
He is also prohibited from holding any official football position and from attending matches under the league’s jurisdiction during this period.
“Mr Muvadi was found guilty of breaching the PSL Rules and Regulations and the Committee has imposed a fine of $4,000 (Four Thousand Dollars), together with the costs of the hearing. In addition, Muvadi has been banned for a period of one year from conducting football business for Yadah FC or any other club participating in the Premier Soccer League, including holding any official position.He was further barred from attending any matches under the jurisdiction of the Premier Soccer League for the same period. These sanctions are effective immediately,” reads part of the statement.

Yadah FC Also Penalised
The sanctions extended to Yadah FC, which was found guilty of contravening PSL rules.
The club was slapped with a US$5,000 fine, payable within 15 days, in addition to the costs of the hearing.
PSL Reiterates Zero-Tolerance Approach
In a statement, the league stressed that the penalties underscore its commitment to maintaining discipline, integrity, and professionalism in Zimbabwean football.
“The Premier Soccer League reiterates its commitment to upholding discipline, protecting the integrity of the game and promoting a safe and professional environment for all participants,” the statement read.
