Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo has rewarded Zimbabwean comedian Comic Elder with a massive US$150,000 to buy a house.
Announcing the gesture on his official Facebook page, Chivayo praised the power of comedy in helping Zimbabweans overcome daily stress and hardships through laughter.

Comic Elder Recognised Nationally
Comic Elder, whose real name is Leroy Tadiwanashe Zaware, has become one of Zimbabwe’s most beloved comedians thanks to his relatable skits and multiple character performances.
His rising popularity recently caught the attention of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who applauded the youthful entertainer during the National Youth Symposium — a recognition Chivayo applauded as a milestone achievement.
Wicknell Chivayo’s Message of Motivation
In his statement, Chivayo highlighted Comic Elder’s contribution to national entertainment and said the gift was a token of appreciation for making the nation — including the President — laugh.

He instructed the comedian to see his lawyer, Sikhumbuzo Mpofu, to collect the money or have the house purchased and transferred into his name.
“As a small token of my APPRECIATION for your hard work and comical talent which makes us LAUGH each day, and more specifically which made the PRESIDENT laugh, please go and see my lawyer, SIKHUMBUZO MPOFU, on FRIDAY and collect US$150,000 in cash
so you can buy yourself a decent HOUSE in any area of your choice.”
Chivayo also encouraged young people across Zimbabwe to remain patient, dedicated and passionate, assuring them that:
“Let this gesture serve as an INSPIRATION to all young people, that with PATIENCE, hard work and PASSION, your time will certainly come. In GOD’s time, He will make everything PERFECT !!!!”
