Access to water has been restored to the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Johannesburg after several hours with dry taps.
The facility had been experiencing low water pressure since Monday night, affecting crucial medical procedures and general operations.
The Gauteng Health Department said that the main reservoir was now 50% full and water tankers had been dispatched to other blocks within the city.
“The situation is now back to normal. We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding of the public during the time. We are also committed to working with the relative authorities to ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply for all health facilities” said spokesperson Khutso Rabothata.
