Airlink confirms no flights delayed as a result of Microsoft’s global outage

Airlink has confirmed that none of its flights have been grounded or delayed as a result of Microsoft’s global outage.

The airline said that only some of its systems functionalities were affected.

An update from a cybersecurity company affected updates on Microsoft Cloud services, causing the system to crash earlier on Friday, and affecting the functioning of banks, airlines, telecoms, and retail stores across the world.

“The impact on the global outage on Airlink has been minimal. It’s really only affected some systems functionalities and we’ve put in place manual workarounds, so we’ve got staff performing some of the work manually. None of the flights have been delayed as a result of the outage today,” said Airlink media relations manager, Linden Birns.
