Zimbabwe all-rounder Sean Williams has retired from T20Is after taking part in the 5-match series against Najmul Hossain Shanto’s Bangladesh. Williams decided to hang his boots after Zimbabwe secured a consolation victory by 8 wickets on Sunday in the last T20I at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
Zimbabwe, however, lost the series 1-4. Williams played only 2 games in the series and failed to make a significant impact. The 37-year-old will continue representing the national team in ODIs and Tests. A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official, working with the Zimbabwean team, confirmed the development around Williams.
“He (Williams) decided to retire from T20I and informed about his decision to his team mates following the game,” the official was quoted as saying to Cricbuzz.
