The case involving Ace Magashule’s former personal assistant, Moroadi Cholota, is set to be transferred to the Bloemfontein High Court on Friday morning.
This after Cholota was granted R2,500 bail by the magistrates court on Thursday.
She faces money laundering, fraud, and corruption charges for her alleged involvement in the botched multi-million rand asbestos tender.
Cholota is among a long list of people who are set to account for how a project meant to fund the removal of harmful asbestos from the homes of some of the province’s poorest residents ended up in the wrong hands.
Former Free State Premier Ace Magashule and controversial businessman, Edwin Sodi, are among the accused.
After four months behind bars, Cholota was extradited from the US where she had studied through a bursary awarded by the Free State government.
The State in the matter alleges the sponsorship by government was awarded unduly to her and Magashule’s son.
During her bail hearing, the court found no evidence that Cholota was a flight risk but set out strict bail conditions for her.
Cholota denies any wrongdoing.
