Chillspot Records Producer DJ Ribhe Remanded in Custody as Investigations into Rape Allegations Continue

Chillspot Records producer DJ Ribhe, whose real name is Tafadzwa Mandaza, has been remanded in custody as he faces allegations of raping a 14-year-old schoolgirl.

His next court appearance is scheduled for December 3.

Details of the Case

According to H-Metro, DJ Ribhe appeared virtually in court, where regional magistrate Tilder Mazhande ordered his continued detention pending the finalization of investigations.

He has been in custody since early November and is expected to remain there for at least a month as the case develops.

Dj Ribhe Changes Legal Representation

As part of the ongoing legal proceedings, DJ Ribhe has changed his legal representation.

Initially represented by attorney Dumisani Mthombeni, known for defending other Chillspot Records artists like DJ Fantan and DJ Levels, he is now seeking a new lawyer after his family informed Mthombeni of the change.

Allegations Against the Producer

DJ Ribhe stands accused of drugging his victim before raping her. The incident reportedly took place on October 16, when the victim did not return home from school. Her father became concerned after discovering she hadn’t attended school for two days.

The following day, she was seen at DJ Ribhe’s house with several unnamed individuals. They left for Mashwede Village around 10 PM.

According to the State’s case, DJ Ribhe allegedly manipulated the minor into consuming an unknown substance and smoking shisha.

The victim regained consciousness at DJ Ribhe’s home the next day and realized she had been raped. A search party, initiated by her father after filing a missing person report, located her. When questioned, she disclosed the details of the assault to her father.
