CID Detectives Arrest Five Men For Selling Starlink Kits Without Valid Licenses
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) have arested five men for selling Starlink kits without valid licenses.
The suspects, Polite Jamba (28), Ngoni Mandiwo (29), Denver Ndebele (26), Tinotenda Vambe (26), and Lennin Mhiripiri (26), were busted in Harare on Saturday with Starlink kits.

Arrests Follow Tip-Off on Starlink Sales
According to a police report, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Highlands received a tip-off that Ndebele and Mandiwo were selling Starlink kits at shop number 1, Easy Walk Mall in Harare’s CBD.
Officers went to the location and found the suspects in possession of two Starlink Gen 2 kits, which lacked valid licenses.
The kits, valued at a total of US$900, were seized, and the suspects were detained for further questioning.
Undercover Operation Leads to Additional Arrests
Later that day, undercover detectives posing as customers approached Jamba, Vambe, and Mhiripiri, who were allegedly in possession of an unlicensed Starlink Mini kit, valued at US$450. They were also arrested and taken to CID Highlands for further processing.
Government Issues Compliance Reminder
Their arrest comes after Potraz prohibited the sale of Starlink kits without license.
Meanwhile, the government has since urged individuals who previously imported Starlink kits without a license to regularize them through licensed entities.
