Pearl Adusu Sateckla, Ghana’s Public Relations Manager for the Road Safety Authority, sparked a social media frenzy with her recent revelation about the leading cause of road accidents among men in Ghana.

Unique Cause of Accidents: Men in Ghana Distracted by “Big Nyash”

According to the spokesperson, the majority of accidents involving men occur when they get distracted by big nyash. She emphasised that this distraction often leads to a loss of concentration while driving, contributing to the higher accident rates among men compared to women.

In an interview with Jude Duncan on Citi FM’s Auto Show, Sateckla explained that men often lose focus while driving due to their fascination with and admiration for women with big nyash.

“Men are in the majority. Men like watching women with big buttocks and it’s also part of the inattentiveness,” she said.

Research Backs Startling Claim

When asked about the basis for her claim, Sateckla pointed to existing research supporting the phenomenon. While acknowledging that occasional instances of distraction by big nyash might occur among women as well, she noted that women generally exhibit more caution on the road compared to their male counterparts.

“There is research. Even some women do. Women are more careful than men. Yes, there are lot of inattentiveness on our roads,” she added.

@mcsoul9:

This is not the only grave cause; Ghana has poor roads, not to mention the poor maintenance of vehicles. The Road Safety Authority has failed to do their work.

@__Steeze1:

It’s also one main contributing factor of dealing with stress in Ghana . I tried and it went well , y’all can also do same and you’ll be stress free . My next destination is SA .

@NelsonClin22787:

This doesn’t make any sense. Just wanna draw media attention
