Popular Mzansi DJs and music producers, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small aka The Scorpion Kings have once again set social media ablaze due to their whopping R300,000 booking fee.
News of their hefty fee was disclosed in an email that surfaced on social media.
This revelation quickly caught the attention of fans and industry insiders alike, with many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.
The Amapiano duo also requests other fees aside from the R300k.
While some fans believe the fee is well-deserved given the Scorpion Kings’ status as pioneers of the amapiano genre and their consistent delivery of hit after hit, others were left in shock, questioning whether any performance could truly be worth that much.
“If you’re a promoter and you can’t make that money back from an amapiano gig, you should close shop. But those fees are ridiculous for a local gig,” a tweep wrote.
