Veteran performer Winky D recently took a promoter to task for making him perform at a show at 4am in Germany.
The incident happened in the early hours of 4 August 2024 in Duesseldorf, Germany. The dancehall star performed alongside Sweeter hitmaker ExQ, English Makombe, Mambo Mushona, DJ Chitoxicated, DJ Tony and DJ Stiggs.
Winky D Unhappy Over Early Morning Performance In Germany
Winky D came to the stage in the wee hours of 4 August when his performance poster indicated that the show was on the 3rd of August. The Ibotso chanter was visibly unimpressed that the promoter gave him a slot in the morning, with people already exhausted from a jam-packed night.
Winky D gave the promoter a little lecture:
“Mr Promoter, come. Let me talk. Mr Promoter, you cannot make me sing at 4 o’clock in the morning. No man. No man. I’ve got a big catalogue. But everything stands. Next time, do better. So, right now, we say we have to start the party now.”
The fans at the show erupted in cheers of approval as Winky D reprimanded the promoter in Germany. The supercharged performer erupted into his 2011 smasher First Sight, and the crowd ruptured into joyful screams.

Winky D went on to rock the crowd, belting tracks like Naye, Area 51, Dai and Happy Again.
