A Bulawayo man has caused a stir after he filed for divorce because he had a dream where he saw his wife cheating.

Bulawayo Man Wants A Divorce Because Wife Cheated In A Dream

Energy Moyo, from the Lobenvale suburb in Bulawayo, is done with his wife and wants a separation based on vivid dreams of his wife’s alleged infidelity. Despite having no concrete evidence, Moyo’s dreams have left him deeply troubled and convinced that his wife, Angela Dube, is unfaithful.

Moyo, who has been married to Dube for nine years, described his recurring dreams in his application to the Bulawayo Customary Court. He claimed that in these dreams, his wife was romantically involved with another man, who was also their neighbour. Waking up from these dreams, Moyo felt distressed and questioned Dube’s faithfulness.

In his court application seen by B-Metro, Moyo stated his desire to dissolve the marriage, citing that the dreams have strained their relationship to the point of no return.

“The marriage relationship between the parties has irretrievably broken down and there are no prospects of restoration of a normal marriage between them,” Moyo wrote.

He emphasised that the constant dreams made him feel like his wife was keeping secrets from him.

Moyo’s application detailed how these dreams began early in their marriage and have continued over the years. He expressed that the dreams eroded the love, affection, trust, and respect they once had for each other. Despite having no reason to believe his wife was actually unfaithful, the persistent dreams left him unable to cope with the marriage.

Moreover, Moyo claimed that whenever he tried to discuss the dreams with his wife, she became verbally and physically abusive during these discussions. This alleged abuse, combined with the distress caused by the dreams, led Moyo to seek a divorce.

Moyo is also seeking custody of their two children and an equal division of their household property. He stated that he wants the best for his children and believes that an equal sharing of their property is fair.

The case has not yet been heard by the Bulawayo Customary Court. It remains to be seen how the court will handle this unusual divorce application based on dreams.
