Ecosure Speaks Out After Family Dumps Coffin at Its Branch Over Funeral Claim Dispute
Ecosure has come out to set the record straight after a family left their deceased relative’s body in a coffin at one of its branches.
This incident reportedly occurred after Ecosure allegedly refused to cover funeral expenses due to a missed US$4 payment by the deceased in the month of their passing.
A video of the coffin at the Ecosure branch has been circulating on social media.
The disturbing footage sparked outrage from Zimbabweans who criticized the company for denying the family’s funeral claim. Many social media users accused Ecosure of being heartless and inconsiderate.
Ecosure Releases Statement After Family Dumps Coffin at its Rusape Branch
After facing massive criticism, Ecosure issued a statement to clarify the situation and address the incident.
The funeral service provider expressed condolences to the affected family and acknowledged that the issue occurred at one of its Rusape branches.
Ecosure explained that the family experienced administrative delays but assured the public that the matter has now been resolved amicably.
“EcoSure expresses its sincere condolences to a bereaved family that experienced administrative delays at our Rusape outlet on Saturday, November 2, 2024.The matter was amicably resolved.”
The company expressed regret for the incident and shared that they have reached out to the family directly to convey their apologies.
Additionally, the company announced that they are actively reviewing the situation to identify and address any potential gaps in their premium payment.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to the family and have reached out to the family to express the same.
We are now reviewing the incident with a view to address any gaps in the premium payments and claims process.”
