The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) said that decisive intervention was needed to fight crime in the Eastern Cape following mass killings.
Eighteen people were killed execution-style last week, while six others were shot and killed in Qumbu on Monday.
The party held a media briefing at its headquarters in Braamfontein on Thursday.
Following the two mass shootings which left Eastern Cape communities in less than two weeks apart, the EFF said that there was a need for urgent action.
Party leader, Julius Malema, raised concern about the rising murder rate in Lusikisiki.
“Lusikisiki Police Station is among the top 10 police stations that record the highest reported murder rates, and this has been the case for some time. This is a 10 clear signs that unless decisive action is taken, our people will continue to be subjected to lawlessness.”
He said that law enforcement agencies must come up with solutions to arrest violent crime.
“These continuous killings are an indication that serious and urgent intervention is required. Law enforcement agencies must intensify efforts to bring an end to this senseless violence and restore safety and peace in our communities.”
One person has since been arrested for the mass shooting and is set to return to court next week.
