The power utility Eskom has said that the overloading of its equipment, theft, and vandalism has caused power outages in various parts of the province.
Some areas have been without power for more than 16 hours since Monday night.
The power utility said its teams had been deployed to tend to the faults.
The affected neighborhoods include Tableview, Parklands and Sir Lowry’s Pass.
Eskom spokesperson for the Western Cape, Lucy Ndou, said that Caledon and the surrounding farms had been impacted due to extensive theft of Eskom’s infrastructure that continues to affect electricity restoration.
Ndou also stated that customers would be updated regarding the estimated time of restorations.
