Barely two weeks ago, the daring bogus doctor was arrested for masquerading as a medical doctor at the same hospital. He operated under the alias Prosper Mpofu and managed to deceive many for about two years. During this period, he attended to patients and provided medical treatments without any formal qualifications.

Vanhuvaone’s initial arrest raised alarms when he prescribed unusual treatments, such as Lacto and fruits, including apples and grapes, for medical conditions. This bizarre approach led to suspicions and, eventually, his arrest.

He was charged with multiple counts of fraud and misrepresentation, including practising without proper registration under the Health Professions Act. Additionally, he faced charges of defrauding individuals by claiming he could secure their places at the Mpilo Central Hospital School of Nursing.

Despite being released on bail, Vanhuvaone continued his fraudulent activities. The case has drawn significant attention due to the potential risks posed to patients and the reputation of Mpilo Central Hospital.

Vanhuvaone was scheduled to appear in court on October 7, 2024, after getting US$100 bail last week. However, he might have to appear in court sooner to face the new charges.
