Former Member of Parliament Dexter Nduna has been remanded in custody following his recent arrest. Nduna was taken into custody on allegations that he was unlawfully collecting parking fees from motorists in Chegutu, a town in Mashonaland West province.
Charges Against Dexter Nduna and Legal Proceedings
The former Chegutu West legislator appeared before a magistrate in Chegutu, where he faced fraud charges. According to the state’s representative, Tafadzwa Vhore, Nduna allegedly misled the public by claiming that a company associated with him, Team Chapter, had the legal authority to collect parking fees in the area.

Vhore outlined the case against Nduna:
“The accused individual falsely claimed to be acting on behalf of the Chegutu municipality, demanding cash payments from motorists for parking services.”
These allegations form the basis of the fraud charge. Lawyer Unite Saizi is representing Nduna from Saizi Law Chambers. The court has postponed the matter, setting Tuesday as the date for a bail hearing.
Previous Allegations of Misconduct
This is not the first time Dexter Nduna has faced misconduct allegations. In recent weeks, he was accused of deceiving unemployed youth in the area by promising them jobs as parking marshals. Nduna reportedly collected fees from these individuals under the false pretence that they would receive formal training and subsequent employment opportunities.
