A killer couple on the run, accused of the brutal murder of a four-year-old girl, will soon confront legal proceedings in Zimbabwe after they are extradited from South Africa. This follows a decisive ruling by a South African court that has deemed them accountable for the alleged crime.

John Zvivi and Lister Sibanda, who reportedly fled the country after the tragic incident, were apprehended in Bram Fischerbille, Johannesburg. They are suspected of killing Lister’s sister’s daughter and have been evading extradition back to Zimbabwe.

Court Proceedings and Ruling

After their arrest, the couple sought legal representation to challenge their extradition. However, their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.

In the court’s judgment, it was stated,

“After reviewing all evidence presented, including the arguments from both sides, the court concludes that the respondents, John and Lister, must be extradited to the Republic of Zimbabwe.”

The court confirmed that adequate evidence exists to support the prosecution in Zimbabwe for the crimes detailed in the extradition request.

As part of the ruling, the court ordered the couple to remain in custody while awaiting the Minister of Justice’s decision on their extradition, as stipulated by Section 11 of the Extradition Act 67 of 1962. They have 15 days to appeal this order to the High Court.

Meanwhile, their children have been placed under the care of Social Welfare officials in South Africa. This situation highlights the tragic consequences of the couple’s alleged actions.

The Allegations That Led To The Kille Couple’s Arrest

According to reports, the couple committed the alleged crime at their home in the Vantage Area of Zvimba. Following the purported murder, they concealed the child’s body in a sack before discarding it in a river. It is alleged that the young girl, named Princess, suffered fatal injuries due to severe physical abuse.

Princess’s mother, Nomsa, had entrusted her daughters to the couple’s care while she worked as a domestic worker in South Africa. Tragically, it is reported that the couple subjected the children to horrific abuse, employing electrical cables and a walking stick as instruments of violence.
