Outrage as Zimbabwe Swiftly Deports Chinese Bosses

This decision was met with criticism from Zimbabweans, who felt the Chinese managers should have faced prosecution for their “barbaric acts” instead of being simply deported. Some commented that the deportation alone was an inadequate punishment, and the suspects should have at least served a custodial sentence before being sent back to China. Here are some of the comments:

@Dalas54:

I don’t think deportation alone suffices for such barbaric acts, could have gone the prosecution route, in the event of custodial sentence then soon after serving they get deported. Just deportation alone is not hindrance enough, in my opinion.

@Shumbayese:

They should be arrested, serve time and then deported. Why do you give them special treatment?

@Gagu70669111:

So if a Chinese does something wrong he is just deported. What kind of justice is this.

@ShylockShumba:

Cde why were they deported instead of facing the law for their crime, is there a government to government agreement that we don’t know about which says our all weather friends should not be prosecuted, i smell injustice there

@MwendaLex:

Why deport before trial?
