Several Feared Dead After Mzansi Express Bus Collides With Broken-Down Bakkie in Musina

A tragic accident involving a Mzansi Express bus traveling from Johannesburg to Zimbabwe has left several people feared dead and many others seriously injured.

Collision With Stationary Bakkie Sparks Chain Reaction

According to early reports, the bus was driving along the N1 near Musina in the early hours of Tuesday, July 8, when it collided with a stationary bakkie stranded on the road.

The bakkie had reportedly broken down and had no hazard lights or a reflective breakdown triangle to warn oncoming motorists.

The force of the impact caused the bus driver to lose control. The bus swerved into the opposite lane, narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with an approaching truck. However, it struck the trailer the truck was towing.
