With the Gauteng Education Department set to begin its placement process on Monday, it says parents can rest assured that all learners will be placed.
Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane is at this hour briefing the media on his department’s readiness to place all learners who applied during this year’s online admission period.
The system went up in July and closed in mid-August for learners hoping to secure their spot for Grades 1 and 8 during next year’s academic year.
Chilonane has moved to assure parents that contingency plans are in place to ensure the placement of all learners within the public schooling system.
” But we have built a lot of classrooms to increase the classroom capacity also we have provision for temporary and mobile classrooms which are not my favourite I don’t want these at all we continue to we have set a target for the number of schools will be building in this and we know that by the time we’re done building these schools you will see in the next two or three years which is the medium term the impact of the pressure would’ve been mitigated greatly.”
